Health & Wellness for Employees at Tumu
Posted on 08/06/2020 by Briar Smith
Tumu Timbers recognise that our employees are our key resource, we are committed to the wellbeing of our staff to ensure they meet their goals and grow to their full potential.
Lots of staff are taking up the opportunities to use the free gym sessions with a personal trainer from June until September. Employees have 6 sessions a week to choose from ranging from strength/conditioning, boxing and circuit classes. This also includes a Saturday session where staff can bring along... family members. In the small fitness group they are supported with physical improvements, personal wellbeing and goal setting. These changes don’t need to be strictly about losing weight but more to do with making good decisions to improve their overall health and wellbeing.
Throughout the month of June we are promoting the participation in Junk Free June, to encourage employees to make better choices with their eating and lifestyle habits, the entry fee will be donated to the Cancer Society of NZ. Each week we are be sharing tips, advice and challenges to help staff, physically and mentally.
On the 28th of July a group of employees are going to get down and dirty and have a whole lot of fun at the Tough Guy and Gal Challenge. Tumu are helping to encourage participation and subsidise the entry fee for staff. The event is the original mud run series with events across the whole North Island including Wellington, Palmerston North, Hamilton, Hawke’s Bay and Rotorua.
