Companies like Tumu Timbers are teaming up to assist the Hawke’s Bay District Health Board in a significant way.
The Child Healthy Housing Programme targets families and children that may be at risk from cold homes by providing them with free firewood.
The programme is looking to provide 100 families with 1 cord a year to see them through winter.
Tumu Timbers has pledged to donate 40 cord of firewood to help the initiative, with the potential for more next year.
General Manager, James Truman has also offered to deliver the timber offcuts where needed.
We’re certainly pleased to be in a position to do our part and support a cause that benefits our local community.
