Tumu Smokefree Whanau Fun Day

On Sunday the 10th of April 2016, Tumu Timbers held their Smokefree Whanau Fun Day at Hastings Boys High School. A big thanks to the school for supporting our event.

This day was a huge success and thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended. This aim of the day was to promote Tumu recently launched business objective β€œTo promote and improve the Health and Wellbeing of all Tumu Timbers employees and their whanau, resulting in a healthier workforce.”

There were giveaways and prizes galore and the whanaus got to take home fresh onions, squash and apples, thanks to the local customers who supported our event. The children got to take part in face painting, blowing bubbles, jumping on the bouncy castle and eating popcorn. The Fire Engine stopped in for a flying visit.

Thanks must also go to the various health providers; Smokefree, OPSM, Heart Foundation, Breathe HB, Diabetes, Cancer Society, Health HB, Oral Health, Safe Kids and Civil Defence, who all engaged with whanau and promoted their own health messages.

Monique and Henry Heke from MKR (My Kitchen Rules) were also present undertaking healthy food demos which was tested by all. Tumu put on a beautiful lunch, bread, salads and a selection of meat.

A big thanks to all our sponsors who helped make this day a success.
